What app is that? How do you make your feed look cohesive? Where do you take your pictures? These are just a few questions I get asked on Instagram or from my friends pretty frequently. Trust me, some of my closest friends will even admit to sending me their photos to edit before they post them on Instagram. So I thought I would write a really helpful post for those of you always wondering how I do it.

My favorite apps to use are VSCO, Facetune and Planoly. All three apps serve different purposes, but personally I believe in order to create a cohesive brand for yourself or your business using these three apps before you post to social media are essential. And the best part is... THEY'RE FREE!

You should use this app ritually. Do not post your pictures straight to Instagram because I guarantee no matter how good the lighting, it could still use a little editing. The best thing to remember is that you should typically use the same filter on every picture you post. In this way, when you are scrolling through your feed everything will match and the colors won't look off.

I use this app when I want to remove people from the background of my photos. Some times it can be a little tricky, but trust me it is worth it. Your picture will turn out so much better when you are the focus rather than having randoms in the background photobombing. Another great use for this app is to brighten up some colors in your photo. I usually use it when it is a gloomy day. What I like to do is tint the sky blue or the water brighter.

Just recently I discovered this app and it has saved me a whole lot of struggle. Before I would rearrange my feed on VSCO which was the most frustrating thing, but now I can easily move pictures around and create a cohesive feed.
